I can’t believe this is my final 2009 post and the begnning of 2010. May the blog idea below help you achieve all that you desire and deserve in 2010!
Every year I love putting together a Vision board. I mean I really love it – thumbing through magazines, making a collage, thinking about what I want in life. What could be better!
Oh, I know, marrying imagination with action!
This year, create a journey board that keeps your dreams front and center. That rewards you for taking steps, big and small, towards your dreams. I started creating what I call Journey Boards, a tool that brings together vision boards with rewarding yourself for taking action. In the video I show you my journey board for 2010. Below are the instructions. I hope you’ll take an hour and invest in yourself and your future. Let’s make 2010 the year all our dreams come true! Oh ya, let’s enjoy the journey too.
Here is how it works…
1) You are going to add both a starting point and road to your vision collage.
2) I suggest buying a large piece of either thick paper or poster board. You can find these at any office or art supply store. Of course, gather up all the magazines in your house.
3) Go through the magazines and cut out any and all words and pictures that speak to you. Don’t worry right now about the collage itself. You’ll use some of your cut outs and toss the others. For now, it’s about quantity. If it speaks to you, cut it out.
4) Once you are finished cutting, start your collage. Use the words and pictures to create your vision board at the top of the blank paper. Remember, you need room to create your starting point and your road so keep the collage to the top of the sheet. This is why I like poster boards – I need lots of room for both my collage and my road.
5) Then, at the bottom of the sheet create a starting collage. Something small. I found an image of a rocket but you may find words or even a current image of yourself that works.
6) Next, draw in a road
7) Finally, go online and find an image of a footprint or something else you can use to paste on every time you take a step big or small towards your dreams. I like footprints but you may like rockets or stars. Make sure to print out a lot of them!
For completing your journey board go ahead and put down your first footprint. You’ve earned it!
9) Throughout the year, add footprints for all steps towards your goals. Placing the footprint or whatever you use each time you achieve something helps provide a wonderful sense of accomplishment, focus and joy for the journey itself.
10) If new dreams call out, add those photos. Dreams and visions should be like wet clay you can always mold.
Dream big. Dream often. Love your life!

Keep your vision board front and center and add a star, footprint or whatever you want to use every time you take a step towards your vision. This technique helps you reconnect with your vision both on a conscious and subconscious level. You aren’t just looking at your vision board, you are interacting with it too.
